London, 13 July 2022: HumanForest is launching London’s first shared eMoped scheme, the company’s new innovation to provide delivery drivers with flexible access to sustainable travel.
The eMoped trial consists of 200 vehicles, all fully powered by certified renewable energy, which will be rented by business delivery riders across London.
The HumanForest eMoped is a state of the art electric vehicle for longer trips, offering a 70 mile range, dual electric batteries, an integrated USB charging point, phone holder, integrated GPS tracking and alarm system, as well as a 40L Top Box equipped with HumanForest eMoped helmet.
In keeping with the HumanForest business model, every user is given five minutes free per day. Rides will cost £0.20p per minute thereafter, or customers can benefit from buying minute bundles, allowing them to ride from £1.50 per hour. Users will also be charged per kilometre ridden.
Combustion mopeds are by far the most popular vehicle for on demand deliveries in London, and yet eMopeds are only used for 5% of deliveries. By making the eMopeds affordable and accessible, HumanForest believes it can help businesses and riders switch to an environmentally friendly mode of transport.
HumanForest estimates that it can remove the need for up to 3,000 combustion mopeds and that for every mile ridden on an eMoped, 130g of CO2 is prevented from being released into London’s air.
The HumanForest eMopeds, as well as the company’s entire operations, are powered by 100% certified renewable energy making them completely carbon neutral, whilst also significantly reducing noise pollution across the city.
Furthermore, as the fleet is fully managed and serviced by the HumanForest team, users do not have to pay for fuel or battery charge, whilst also making significant daily savings on ULEZ costs.
HumanForest eMoped parking will be available in certain areas of central London, near important transport links and busy high streets, perfect for the increasing demand of courier and delivery drivers. Users will be able to park the vehicles within chosen public parking areas and solo motorcycle bays, which will be marked and visible within the app, to maximise accessibility for everyone. This will help ensure London's business and commercial fleets are a key part of the city's sustainability solution.
All riders will undergo thorough safety and compliance checks. Their Compulsory Basic Training (“CBT”) certificate or driver's licence will be uploaded to the HumanForest App and automatically verified using our technology.
The trial will commence on 13 July 2022.
Agustin Guilisasti, CEO & Founder, said: “Becoming multi-modal with London’s first shared and truly green eMoped scheme gives Londoners another tool to reduce their carbon footprint and improve air quality. As petrol prices reach record-highs, this is a timely launch for businesses to embrace sustainable transport through a shared service with maximum flexibility. We are excited to welcome this new type of user into our community.”
